I am excited this morning. I had set aside ten days to think about the last "week" of Jesus' life on earth. As a child I attended a Catholic school and I knew that God was good. I've often asked the LORD to help me when I was faced with challenges. He always answered my prayers.
Awesome ...! Indeed, but at some point in my life, I felt that I wanted to know God better. I remember how I stood at the door towards the balcony and stared at the trees, asking the LORD to know Him better. I did not know what impact this question would have on my life. The Lord miraculously brought me to the Netherlands where I came in contact with people who knew God. I was not aware of the fact that they prayed for me and my boy-friend (now my husband). On a Christmas Eve, the Lord spoke clearly to my boy-friend; He was so impressed. He asks me if I wanted to go to church; and of course, I would go along with him to find God. ... We knew our friends were Christians, so we asked them if they knew of a church in the neighborhood. The results were: I gave my life to the Lord in 1994 and that same year I was baptized in Amsterdam.
Awesome ...! Indeed, but I still had a lot of questions. Each man carries his own cross, they say. I did too! My childhood experiences caused me to have a huge inferiority complex. My boy-friend was patient and taught me to talk about the past. As I learned to talked, I also learned to surrender my past to the LORD. This led to my healing. Yes, there is healing in the Lord!
Awesome...! Indeed, but the Lord had not forgotten my question. My boy-friend, now my husband, was asked to work abroad. We travelled to the UK, Switzerland and the US. I met people with different culture, experiencing God in different ways. They told me of their experiences with God.That is when I met God as someone who wants to have a personal relationship with you through his Holy Spirit (= the father's Spirit, which he gave to us so that we are not alone in this world even though Jesus ascended to heaven). I met God as a Provider; He provides if you are in need with a solution (no matter the circumstances). I met God as a Friend who is always ready to listen to you. I met God as a Father. Father ... ... If you did not have a great father-child relationship, it is hard to understand who a father really is. I'm still learning ... His Father's heart disciplines me. He foresees in my needs (physical, emotional, spiritual etc.). As my Creator and the Creator of all things, he is able to cure me of diseases and to deliver me from any situation. As a Shepherd He protects me from the evil around me.
Awesome...! Sure it is.As I commemorate Easter, I realize all the more that my God is not just for me, but much more importantly: He wants to give everyone an abundant life of hope and freedom. I ask God and I choose today to share His amazing love through the Holy Spirit, to others. Love should be shared ...! God was ready to share it. I am now ready to share it.
Awesome...! I'm curious how the LORD will continue my story .....
His, Au Huen
