Shaping up

A couple of days ago, I started to run. I had not run for almost one and a half year. Though I do not always enjoy the minutes ahead of my run, I find myself coming into rest during the run. I can let go of the questions, doubts, pains etc. I was carrying and focus myself on Jesus. While I surrender myself and my issues to Him, I feel stronger. I feel lighter and I am able to finish my run with succes.

Heb 12:1 says:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

I knew I needed to shape up. I was getting tired often. I was struggling as to whether or not to go back to running. I had so many reasons as to why not, but I made a choice to go and try it out again. I let go of my reasoning and started running.

Yesterday, I was touched by the news of the death of Pastor David Wilkerson. Today, I read through some of his latest blogs . Pastor David Wilkerson spent his last blogs, calling Gods children to run the race of faith whatever the difficulties they are facing. To hold fast to the LORD whatever the circumstances. It is a choice one faces each day to run the race of faith with the LORD through His precious Spirit or to give in to circumstances or the sin that so easily entangles. To be shapen up or not to be shapen up!
